Hands on: Nokia Lumia 925 initial review

Nokia is building up it's Lumia series of phones brighter, slimmer and better. The latest flagship is built with poly-carbonate body with aluminium finish giving it a much premiere look and feel. It is nearly 46 grams lighter than its predecessor Lumia 920 (185 grams). It is also the slimmest phone of all Lumia range of mobiles.

Weighing around 139 grams  and 8.5mm thickness brings the slim feel and light weight unibody. The rear camera is a 8.7 mega pixel camera with xenon flash. It is said to have new software which is upgraded with "floating lens" and some new features. It combines the Nokia Smart Camera app on a windows phone with new motion focus feature. You can take 10 continuous shots which can be altered later according to your choice.

The camera has six surfaces which stabilizes the image by minimizing the distortion. Most of the high end devices have four or five surfaces in their cameras. This makes the images are more brighter, sharper and vivid. The Smart Cam app will blur the background keeping the fore ground sharp.

The hardware features are pretty similar to Lumia 920 with 1.5 GHz dual core Snap dragon processor, 2,000 mAh battery and 1 Gigs of RAM. Initial devices come up only with 16 GB of internal memory. 32 GB variants are planned to be released in near future.

Screen comes with 4.5 inches (11.4cm) Super AMOLED display with 1920 X 768 pixel resolution.

The mobile is initially released in UK, China, Germany and Italy from June 2013. Later in US and other markets.

According to Nokia executives, Lumia range of mobiles had a positive increase in sales and people are looking forward to get into new road. They are not planning to invest in Android, instead they are planning to develop more in Windows range of mobiles.

Early Verdict:

Nokia Lumia 925 is an excellent mobile with decent specs. The camera upgrade is exciting ans will be looking forward to it's performance when it hits the market. Though Nokia firm is confident enough that they will sustain the competition from Android and Apple, users have to get satisfaction from what they get.
