Vivo Xplay 5 Elite: First Impressions

Chinese manufacturing company Vivo has announced it top end mobile Vivo Xplay 5 Elite with insane specs. It has many features that are not yet present in some the latest flagships of big manufacturers like LG, Samsung, HTC, Sony etc. Soon this phone will hit market and will play the role of big brother. Why this phone is bigger than others? Lets find out.

Design:

Vivo Xplay 5 Elite is made of metal body which gives a premium look. It has a 5.43 inches Super AMOLED scratch resistant Quad HD screen. The top side of the screen lodges the primary ear piece along with 8 mega pixel secondary camera, ambient and proximity sensors. The bottom edge has micro USB charging slot and dual speaker grill which is very good feature. Left side has the the regular power button in middle and volume rocker at top. Left side has dual GSM sim card slot. Sadly there is no expandable memory option. The back cover is non removable and it lodges a 16 mega pixel camera with dual tone LED flash. The finger print sensor is located in the middle of the back which we generally place our fingers when we hold the mobile in our hand. I think this feature is inspired by LG G5.

The phone weighs around 168 grams and 7.6 mm thick. It is thin but bit bulky in weight.

Specs and Features:

Vivo Xplay 5 Elite has extraordinary features beginning with 6 GB RAM which is the worlds first mobile to have a 6 gigs RAM. It comes with 2.2 GHz Quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset. It has enough power to handle intense multitasking and heavy games. Android 6.0 Marshmallow works flawlessly on this phone with buttery smooth performance.

The display is a 5.43 inches super AMOLED curve edged display which is scratch resistant with Corning Gorilla Glass 4. It has a resolution of 1440 X 2560 pixels at the rate of 541 pixels per inch which means it supports 4K videos.

The mobile has 3600 mAh battery capacity which sounds decent on paper but yet to be tested how long it lasts. Sadly it doesn't have expandable memory option and comes with internal memory of 128 GB. Non expandable memory phones with 4K video recording mode is an awful mismatch.

The main camera is 16 mega pixel Sony Lens camera with 1/2.8 inches sensor and F/2.0 aperture. It can shoot in 4K with. The camera has dual tone LED flash for better illumination in low light. It has other features which normally all mobiles have like phase detection, smile detection, auto focus etc. There is no word on Optical image and video stabilization during the release. We will update it once we get our hands on.

The secondary camera is a 8 mega pixel shooter for better selfies with 1/2.4 inches sensor. It can also record in full HD.

Early Verdict:

Vivo Xplay Elite is an awesome phone with top notch features especially 6 GB DDR 4 RAM. Surely it can be one of the best android mobile that will hit market in upcoming days.
