Samsung Galaxy Note 7 with IRIS Scanner: First Impressions

Samsung is about to announce it's new note flagship the Note 7. Surprisingly there is no Note 6. But yet it is still a speculation and the truth will be revealed on August 2nd 2016 whether the new phablet is Note 6 or Note 7 (Note 7,as many leaks and rumors point to). Before we predict what features will be on board let us dig in into the features which are confirmed or leaked.

Design wise the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 is very similar to Samsung Galaxy S 7 in terms of built quality and appearance. It has a 5.7 inch QHD curved Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 1440X2560 pixels at the rate of 515 pixels per inch which means it supports 4K resolution. Like other Notes of Samsung, the Note 7 also includes it's S - Pen

It comes with an upgraded processor as speculated which includes a quad-core variant of Qualcomm Snapdragon 823 (Dual-core 2.3 GHz Kryo + dual-core 1.6 GHz Kryo) or an octa-core variant of Samsung's own processor the Exynos 8893 (quad-core 2.6 GHz + quad-core 1.6 GHz).

As seen in LeEco Le Max 2 and Vivo X Play 5 Elite Samsung Galaxy Note 7 also includes a whooping 6 GB of RAM. Perhaps Samsung has paid keen attention to these Chinese brand mobiles. Once released we have to test how this phablet will compete against other flagships which have similar amount of RAM.

Note 7 has 64 GB of internal memory which is expandable up to 128 GB. The battery capacity is 400 mAh which is pretty much acceptable for such a huge processor and display. The rear camera is 12 mega pixel shooter with F/1.7 Aperture, 1/2.6" sensor size and1.4 micro meter pixel size. The camera has many features like Optical image stabilization, Auto Phase detection, 4K video recording with simultaneous 9 MP image recording, touch focus and many more. With these specs on paper I hope that the camera performs very well.

As many mobiles now a days are supporting finger print sensor, the most outstanding feature of this flagship is the IRIS scanner or Retinal Scanner. The accuracy of this sensor is still unknown but it is confirmed that it will have this feature.

Other features include dual sim support (Hybrid Sim), Noise filtration, wireless battery charging, fast battery charging, USB type C, dust proof and water proof.

I guess this phablet will be a decent one and am eager to test it's revolutionary IRIS scanner.
