Lava XOLO Play T1000 - Specs and Features
There has been quite a hustle between Indian companies that are providing Android mobiles having higher specifications at a lower price. This competition is pushed to extremes with the release of Karbon Ttanium S5 and Micromax Canvas 4. These mobiles have decent configuration which are available for less than 20,000 rupees.
With the recent advance in Android gaming strategy and recent enhancement of cloud gaming where you can invite and play together with friends (Announced in Google I/O 2013), the requirements in terms of hardware has become an utter most importance. The new Lava XOLO Play is the one which is specially designed for new gaming experience since it is powered by NVIDIA Tegra 3 processor.
Will this mobile specially designed for gaming compete with other Indian market's mobile along with global brands like Samsung, HTC, Sony etc ?
First Look
The new Lava XOLO comes with a large 4.7 inches screen that will grab your attention first. It is plastic build with rounded corners similar to Samsung Galaxy S3. The rear end has 8 mega pixel camera with a flash together rounded in a common border. It has XOLO logo below the camera and of-course the NVIDIA logo as "Powered by NVIDIA Tegra".
The basic keys home, back/return and options are integrated at the bottom of the screen which are capacitive touch keys.
The display is also improved very much and is powered with NVIDIA IPS Prism display with one glass solution. The display is quite comfortable in direct sunlight, wide viewing angles and vibrant color reproduction. With nearly 312 pixels per inch display it is pleasant to watch images, videos and the camera pictures.
The camera also performs well with many features present in other android mobiles like burst mode, face detection, HD video recording. Two features are worth mentioning here:
1)Scene detection and tuning with which you can adapt the camera focus and image stabilization according to the environment in which you are.
2)Low light enhancement - You can enhance the focus in low light to get decent images which is pretty good add on.
The 2 mega pixel secondary camera is provided for video calling. You can record HD 720p videos with secondary camera.
The processor of this phone is what makes this phone more exciting. It is powered by NVIDIA Tegra 3 quad core 1.5 GHz processor which uses 4 plus one additional cores.
The 5th core is powered up when you use smaller apps like, music, web browsing or email checking. According to sales executive of NVIDIA, the 5th core which fires up during low to medium handling of the mobile will efficiently reduce the battery drainage and helps in enhancing the power saving.
When you use games that use heavy graphics, the four major cores will power up providing you a massive power of 1.5 GHz. When used in minimal mode the 5th core will come into play. This is some what innovative that helps in battery saving as well as enhancing the phone's performance.
The graphics are also excellent with NVIDIA ULP GeForce with 12 cores. Some of them claimed that this mobile has already notching up the first rank in several benchmarks by clearly defeating Samsung and HTC.
We didn't get a chance to test that any way.
It has internal memory of 4 GB which is expandable upto 32GB with micro sd card slot. It supports multiple sim (GSM + GSM) and is powered by 2100 mAh battery.
INITIAL CONCLUSION
This mobile definitely brings the new gaming experience along with decent multi tasking and smooth performance. Will this mobile survive the competition with other giants out there?
