Micromax Canvas Knight A350- Tru Octa-core Phone

Micromax has always been the best in mid ranged mobiles in developing countries like India. They always launch pretty decent mobiles having good features like large screens, quad/dual core processors, decent cameras and many more. Now Micromax has pushed further in terms of its hardware to show it's impact on the mid ranged Android market with it's new Micromax Canvas Knight. Lets have a quick review about Micromax Canvas Knight A350.

The Micromax Canvas Knight features a 5 inch full HD IPS screen with a resolution of 1080 X 1920 pixels at 441 pixels per inch. This makes the screen brilliant to see and has excellent viewing angles. The screen is scratch resistant. The body is a unibody design with smooth graphite like coating. There is no micro sd card slot. The volume rocker is placed along with the power button on the right side.

Back side of the mobile has 16 mega pixel camera with single LED flash light. The camera can shoot HD videos and has many tweaks for the image capture. The most awaiting Optical Image Stabilization is finally included in this flagship by Micromax. So the images are better in most of the cases. The secondary camera is a 8 mega pixel camera for video calling support. The secondary camaera can also shoot in HD.

The best part of the phone is the processor. The phone is powered by a 2 GHz Tru Octa-core MT6592T processor assisted by 2 GB RAM, which means the phone should perform with blazing speeds and yes it does. I tested this phone for few minutes with some heavy apps and it didn't showed any lag except the occasional heating while playing few games. The multitasking, browsing, pinch to zoom in browser and many more tasks were handled very quickly by this phone.

The phone comes with Android 4.2.2 JellyBean which is a shame when most of the new mobiles are coming with latest version, KitKat. The battery capacity is 2350 mAh which will last for almost one day with medium to heavy use. The phone has internal memory of 32 GB of which 25.5 is usable. There is no expandable memory card option.

Early Verdict:
The Micromax Canvas Knight is a pretty decent mobile with some excellent features such as a 16 MP camera, Octa-core processor and good design, but some features like JellyBean OS is somewhat awkward for a new comer with huge hardware. I personally dislike including only 2350 mAh battery for such a hugely powered mobile. The phone will barely make it out of one day. If you are a heavy user of internet/gaming/multimedia, then you will be pretty much disappointed. Lack of expandable memory is also somewhat disappointing unless you are heavy multimedia user. Still this mobile is decent deal for such a price in which you get several top end features.
