Sony Xperia Z2 - Specs and Features

Sony Xperia Z which was released last year was a huge success. Sony continues to extend its success rate further with the new Sony Xperia Z2. What makes this mobile different from it's predecessor? Well the specs and features are nearly same with major differences in hardware. It also made few improvements in software along with latest Android KitKat, improved camera features and video recording capabilities. The Sony Xeria Z2 also retained the water and dust proof  features from it's predecessor.

The design is similar to that of the previous version, the Xperia Z with compact premium design and aluminium coating band throughout the border. The screen is slightly larger than Xperia Z. It is 5.2 inches IPS full HD screen with 1080 X 1920 resolution at 424 pixels per inch which makes vibrant and awesome screen available in market. There is  front and back glass coating on the phone and is fully water proof. The borders contain memory card slot, volume rocker button, camera button and the power button in the middle. The rear side lodges a 20.7 mega pixel camera which is similar to the Z1. The official launch stated that the camera can shoot 4K video. This technology is currently used in TV's that helps the video and image quality to be better and vibrant. The same technology is used here in Xperia Z2.

Coming to software, the Sony Xperia Z2 runs on lates Android KitKat 4.4.2 over Sony's customized UI. The PlayStation and unlimited music and video streaming are other trademark apps of Sony that come out of the box.

The major improvement we can observe in this phone is in terms of hardware, with 2.3 GHz quad core  Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor assisted by 3 GB RAM the phone has enough juice to handle everything with excellent speeds. These features will give enough attention in terms of hardware to other mobiles like Note 3 and Samsung Galaxy S5.

 The camera is 20.7 mega pixel with 1/2.3" sensor size. The camera has Sony's latest Exmor RS technology with several features like, face/smile detection. HDR mode, burst mode, sweep panorama, image stabilization, red eye reduction, object tracking and many more tweaks available in the camera app with which you can take pics in several modes (Blur background mode, vine mode, slow motion mode etc). The camera is also water and dust proof. There is a 2.2 mega pixel secondary camera for video calling support and it can also shoot video in full HD.

The mobile comes with an internal memory of 16 GB and has an option for expanding memory upto 64 GB. The battery is also improved with 3000 mAh  with enough power to last for the whole day.

So this mobile is a serious competitor for many mobiles out there like S5 and Apple's flagships. Will this be the best out there? Lets wait and see.
