Lenovo Vibe K5 Plus Review
Lenovo has released its budget smart phone in India last week. It is a perfect device within its price range and as excellent features and ergonomics. Though it can't be a major competitor to high end smart phones, it has excellent potential in its range which can compete in the market efficiently.Probably Lenovo Vibe K5 plus is one of the finest budget smartphone with excellent features. Lenovo has been releasing it's budget range smart phones consistently in Indian market making it one of the most versatile company in this area. Lets have a look on the new Lenovo Vibe K5 Plus.
Design:
The very first look will grab your eyes on the design of the phone. It has a way better premium look when compared to mobiles in the same price range. Though the body is plastic build it feels like a very much premium build with a metallic ring running in the middle. The plastic body of the phone isn't cheap build and has good grip with it's curved edges.
The screen of the phone is a 5 inch display which is not too large or small and can be easily operated with single hand. The top side of the phone has USB charging port and 3.5 mm audio jack. We felt that it is little bit awkward in placing the charging port on the top side. The back side lodges the main camera which is a 13 megapixel shooter with single LED flash. On the bottom side of the back it has two speaker grill which support Dolby output. The phone also has secondary microphone for noise cancellation.
The back cover is removable which has the removable battery inside. The secondary camera is a 5 megapixel shooter.
Specs and Features:
Starting with the display, the Lenovo Vibe K5 plus has a 5 inch display with a resolution of 1080 X 1920 pixels which means it is a full HD display. The screen is a normal IPS LCD display without any Gorilla Glass. The screen has a 441 pixels per inch display which means the viewing angles are decent enough and has good direct sunlight viewing. The sensors include accelerometer, ambient light sensor and proximity sensor.
Lenovo Vibe K5 plus comes with 1.5 GHz, Octa core Qualcomm MSM8939V2 Snapdragon 616 Soc assisted by 3 GB of RAM. The phone performs quite smoothly. There was no lag in multi tasking and graphic heavy applications like games. But we felt a little bit screen transition lag while playing some games like Modern Combat. Even though it is a very minor glitch it was quite frequent and it became more obvious when the game is played frequently. Other than that there were no concerns regarding speed and performance.
The main camera is a 13 megapixel shooter with a single LED flash. The pics are quite good in good light conditions with accurate color reproduction and detail. However the phone struggled in low light conditions. Video recording is also effected a lot due to over enthusiastic auto focus feature. While the front camera can take pretty decent selfies and can record in HD. The phone is 8 mm in thickness which is pretty slim but is little bulky weighing 144 grams. It comes with an internal memory of 16 GB which is expandable up to 128 GB.
The battery capacity is 2750 mAh which is quite low for a phone that supports full HD. The phone also features Theater Max VR technology which is useful in viewing ANT VR devices. It comes in three color variants - Gold, Space grey and Black.
Verdict:
Priced at rupees 8500 INR Lenovo Vibe K5 plus is probably the best smartphone in it's price range which offers great features compared to many other phones.
