CAT S60: World's first phone with Thermal Camera

CAT S60 is not a new mobile. If you are unaware, this mobile was announced in Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2016. But it is launched in Indian market after an year and for the first time. It has some amazing features and specs which includes the main highlight, the Thermal Camera.

American based company Caterpillar popularly known as CAT has released this mobile in India at a price of nearly 68, 000 INR.




CAT S60 is a rugged phone with military durability rating of MIL - STD 810G. This makes the phone shock proof, rust proof and shatter proof. It is also IP68 certified making it waterproof upto a depth of 5 meters under water for one hour duration.

The company claims that the phone will resist extreme temperatures as well. The main feature of this phone is the camera. The main camera is a 13 megapixel FLIR Lepton Thermal Micromedia camera with dual LED flash. According to the company it can shoot images even through smoke, can measure the heat of objects from 30 metres distance and can detect heat which humans cannot sense or feel.



CAT S60 is powered by Qualcomm MM8952 Snapdragon 617 cortex A-53 Octa Core (1.2 GHz + 1.5 GHz) CPU which is accompanied by 3 GB of RAM. It has 4.7 inch display with a resolution of 1280 X 720 pixels at 312 pixels per inch.



It weighs around 180 grams and has thickness of nearly 10.7 mm which is awfully thick. It runs on Android Marshmallow 6 and is expected to get the Nougat update. The phone is available in Amazon as well as some offline stores at a price of 68,000 INR.
