Motorola Moto G

Since Google overtook the Motorola company, no mobile has released from this brand since Moto X. Finally a new mid ranged mobile is released in Indian market first with some decent sepcs compared to same price ranged mobiles. Will this mobile give a decent competition?

Coming to physical appearance, this mobile comes with a 4.5 inches size screen with variable back covers. The screen is Super LCD type and is scratch resistant. The best part of the display is that it has more resolution than other mobiles that come in the same price range and features. It has 1080 X 720p resolution coming at 326 ppi.

The mobile has a premium look which makes a decent appearance unlike the plasticly build mobiles. Most of it looks are similar to Moto X. It has polycarbonate design which is made to repel water on the surface coat. The rear side little curved and so as the edges of the mobile to make it comfortable to handle with single hand. The volume rocker and power buttons are on right while the micro USB is at the top with 3.5mm ear phone jack at top.

Moto G is powered by 1.2 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Cortex A7 processor which is not as fast as other top end processors. But it can handle many tasks at ease. This processor is accompanied by 1GB RAM which is pretty decent. It comes with 16 GB or 8 GB (variants) of internal memory which is not expandable. This is somewhat a negative aspect for us. People having lots of media have to be careful while choosing between two variants.

The battery is pretty decent which can bring up the juice to last for an entire day or little more. It comes with 2070 mAh battery and according to officials it has enough power to handle medium to heavy usage without draining away until your day ends.

The camera was the area which we are most disappointed. Moto G comes with a 5 MP camera which should required a nudge. Many mobiles at this price range are providing 8 MP or more. While we still can't really rely on the pixels of the camera there are several factors that has to be considered to make the best out of what it has. The camera has a circular menu with lot of options and features. It is little amazing when the whole android interface (4.4) on this mobile is almost stockish while the camera layout, features and options are almost different entirely.

The photos are good in day light while they are average in dim light or night times with pretty much noise. The camera also can shoot videos in 720p. Other camera features include burst mode, face detection, auto focus and 4X digital zoom. Moto G has 1.3 MP secondary camera for video calling support. Secondary camera also can shoot in 720p.

The call quality was so clear even in heavy traffic areas. Thanks to the noise filtration available. The mobile dial layout is stock android type. You can sync contacts from your mail and social networking sites.

Overall the performance is good with medium to heavy multi tasking, it can handle almost all tasks without any glitches. Since it comes with mostly stock android interface without any much customizations, users can experience sleek performance. The latest version of Android 4.4 KitKat runs flawlessly on this device. It comes with dual sim slot both supporting GSM sim cards.
Gaming performance is decent. We tested some games with heavy graphics like Modern Combat without any lags.

Overall, a decent mobile with decent specs with affordable lower price. It's a steal for the amount which you get for this mobile.
