How to Enable FaceTime in Middle Eastern and Blocked Countries?

Hello Dear Readers. This is my first post about an Apple product and am glad I came up with a good tweak for iPhone users. This tutorial is about enabling FaceTime on your iPhone in middle eastern countries as well as in some blocked countries.

FaceTime is a voice over IP (VoIP) application developed by Apple for video telephony between supported iDevices as well as Mac OS X. This app lets you make calls over internet between different FaceTime users.

Please follow the step by step procedure carefully for getting FaceTime on your  device.

NOTE: Am not responsible for any damage, if occurs through this process.
Not working on iPad WiFi models.

Requirements:

1) iOS 7 or later.

2) Jailbroken device. Youe iPhone must be Jail broken. If you are running on latest iOS 7.1.2, it is easy to jailbreak using Pangu. If you are on iOS 7.0.4 or below follow the jailbreak process by evad3rs. If you are not sure about how to jailbreak your device please drop me an email with the details of your phone model and iOS version. I will be glad to help you.

3) iFile: Download this file manager from Cydia. This app is very much essential to enable FaceTime on your device.

After you have met the above criteria, backup your device with iTunes before proceeding further. After backing up follow these steps:

  • Open Cydia and tap on sources. Add  http://repo.insanelyi.com/  to the sources.

  • After adding and updating the sources, search for "commcenterpatch" in search box and install it.

  • Open iFile and go to var/mobile/Library/Carrier.Bundle.bundle and open carrier.plist file as property list viewer.

  • Now tap on + button at the bottom and name it as AllowsVoIP. Click Type as Boolean and tap create.

  • After creating this, you will see AllowsVoIP is turned off on the top. Turn it on.

  • Now navigate to System/Library/Carrier Bundles/iPhone and locate your carrier bundle folder. Intially there will be numbers on all the folders. Open any one of the file and come back again, now you can see the names of the bundles instead of numbers. Now it is easy to locate your carrier bundle.

  • In your carrier bundle locate carrier.plist file and open it as property list viewer.

  • Click on the + sign at the bottom and create the file as mentioned above. (Name: AllowsVoIP. Type: Boolean). Turn on the Allows VoIP as you did in the previous step.

  • Now exit iFile and reboot your device twice. Note that after rebooting your device once you cannot see FaceTime in home screen. After rebooting second time you can see FaceTime in your home screen as well as in settings. Go to settings and activate FaceTime.

Please Note: Even after jailbreaking your device backup once again before following this procedure. Messing up with process may result in making your device in network search mode. So please be careful.

If you follow all the steps stated above without any errors you will get FaceTime for sure.
