Sony Xperia C4 Dual: Hands On
Sony has announced a new mid ranged mobile, Sony Xperia C4 dual. The name itself indicates that it is a dual sim mobile. There is also a single sim variant but not sure about it's release date and features. The Sony Xperia C4 dual is the successor of the previous flagship, Xperia C3 which was released previous year.Sony Xperia C4 has updated features when compared to C3 and has a better configuration and design.
Design:
The build quality if the phone is decent. I don't say it as a top notch premium build design but it isn't cheap as well. The display screen is large 5.5 inches which is an IPS LCD display. It is scratch resistant and supported by Bravia Engine technology.
The phone's design is more camera focused. The front camera is accompanied by a single LED flash to take better selfies in low light conditions. The front camera is 5 mega pixel shooter with wide angle lens. The back side of the phone lodges the main camera which is a 13 mega pixel shooter.
The power button, physical camera button, micro sd card slot, volume rocker and dual sim slots are lodged on the rite side of the phone. The micro sd card slot and two micro sim card slots are covered by a plastic flap.
The micro usb charging slot is on the left side in upper 1/3rd of the body. 3.5 mm audio jack is on the top.
The back cover is non removable and you cannot replace the battery. The mobile is available in three different color - white, black and light mint.
The mobile is 7.9 mm thick and weighs 147 grams.
Hardware and Performance:
Sony Xperia C4 dual is powered by a 64-bit Mediatek MT6752 1.7 GHz octa-core processor. Am not a big fan of Mediatek processor because they tend to lag or have heating issues. But Sony Xperia C4 dual didn't showed any glitches in performance and no heating issues. It has 2 GB RAM and Mali-T760MP2 GPU.
Multitasking was very smooth and heavy gaming was also lag free. The phone runs on Android Lollipop 5.0
The main camera is 13 mega pixel camera with a single LED flash and it has Sony Exmor Sensor as the rest of latest Sony devices. The phone is more selfie focused and has lots of tweaks and customizations to take selfies. Camera app has tons of tweaks for better images. The front camera also has a single LED flash with Exmor sensor and it is a 5 mega pixel shooter. Both cameras can shoot in full HD.
The battery capacity is 2600 mAh and it lasts for one day on normal to moderate usage. Call quality was good and it supports two sims and dual LTE support.
Verdict:
Sony Xperia C4 dual is a decent mobile at mid price range and is very similar to other mobiles in that range. It is a very decent phone for taking images with both main camera and front camera. The processor is also improved and daily usage is hassle free.
It will be released into the market in mid June and price will be around 20,000 to 25,000 INR.
