Nubia N1: Review

Greetings to all! I have been off from my blog for quite a long time and I really missed blogging. Now here I am back in action and coming up with the review of a surprising phone called Nubia N1. The most attractive part of this phone is the battery. The company claims that the mobile will last for 1.5 days on a heavy use and 3 days on normal to moderate use. Will this phone stand up to the company's claims? Let's find out.

DESIGN

Nubia N1 has a very uninspiring design. With many phones providing the premium look with either uni body design or glass coated backs, the Nubia N1 has a metal back panel with finger print scanner on it and 5.5" screen. The design is though metallic, I couldn't appreciate the premium feel and is not eye catchy. The lower end has double speaker grill and the 3.5 mm eat phone jack is on the top. The screen is LCD display with corning gorilla glass 3.

The front side has all regular features like the secondary camera, ear piece and noise cancellation secondary microphone.

SPECS AND FEATURES

Nubia N1 is powered by 2 GHz Meidatek Octacore Helio P10 processor with 3 GB of RAM. Though the phone has enough power to handle most RAM consuming apps there is a slight glitch on heavy games only. The graphics are also mediocre and are not that punchy.

The phone comes in two variants in terms of internal memory, 32 GB and 64 GB. Both are expandable up to 128 GB. But the expandable memory is hooded under the hybrid sim slot. So if you want to use two sims you have to remove the memory card.

The rear and front cameras are 13 mega pixel shooters with 5P lens and F2.2 aperture which come with Sapphire glass IR filter. The battery capacity is massive 5000 mAh and is non removable.

The back side of the phone has the finger print sensor and it works very good without any issues.

PERFORMANCE

Though the phone has decent specs on paper it has few issues in performance. The heavy games tend to lag a bit and phone heats up a little under heavy gaming. Other than that there are no issues at all. The Nubia UI over android gives tons of gesture features. I found myself pretty obsessed with these gesture features.

The rear camera performs very well in bright light but there is severe lack of detail in low light. The front camera performs well when compared to rear camera. Both the cameras can shoot in full HD.

The display is a full HD display with good viewing angles (401 ppi). The color reproduction is very good but the display is on warmer side.

The company claims that the mobile lasts for 3 days on a normal use and 1.5 days on heavy use. Well the beefy 5000 mAh battery can tempt you to believe those claims but no. The phone lasted for 1.5 days on a normal use and little less than a day on heavy use.

VERDICT:

I personally feel if you are looking for a phone in this price range (12,500 INR - !4,000 INR) avoid this phone and there are plenty other phones that has great specs and features with excellent performance as well.
