WhatsApp will tag your messages as 'Forwarded Message' - Check Why

WhatsApp is the worlds largest messaging app with over 1.5 billion users (as of December 2017). With the increased number of users, there is an increased risk of spam messages or forwarded messages. Some messages are being forwarded to many individual users or groups without checking its authenticity. To prevent circulation of such messages, WhatsApp has introduced a new feature update to keep a check on the spam content.

WhatsApp new feature update will tag your messages as 'forwarded message' to keep a  check on spam messages. This feature is available for Android users only at this moment. WhatsApp version 2.18.67 beta version has this new feature incorporated. Whenever a user forwards a message or sends any message which is not their own, those messages will be tagged as "forwarded message". This will keep a check to spammers and a user can recognize whether the message is a spam or legit.

There are plenty of spam messages that are still circulating as of today. Some very popular messages say that you need to share a particular message to other WhatsApp groups or your account will be deactivated, share to change color, share to win the lottery and much more. So, when a person forwards such messages, a user of user of a group can easily recognize that this is a spam message by the new tagging feature.

If you want to send a festival wish or a new year wish to many people or groups in your contacts, you can use the option 'Broadcast' without your messages marked as 'forwarded' as spammers don't have this option.
