LeEco Le Max 2: Preview
Chinese market are focusing to expand their android mobile market all over the world with extraordinary features that can compete with most of the leading mobile brands like LG, Sony, Samsung, HTC etc. LeEco Le Max 2 is one such phablet that has superb features that can punch out raw power. It is the second phone to have 6 GB RAM after Vivo Xplay 5 Elite but it has some lesser features than the latter.
Specs and Features:
LeEco Le Max 2 has unibody metallic body for a premium look and yes it looks premium. It has 5.7 inches IPS LCD display with a resolution of 1440 X 2560 pixels at the rate of 515 pixels per inch. The front surface has ear piece on middle of the top with 8 mega pixel secondary camera and ambient light sensor on either side. It also has infrared blaster (IR Blaster) on top edge.
The power button and volume rocker are on right side while the left side of the phone has the dual sim card slot. Sadly there is no memory card slot which means the memory is non expandable. For a phone which has 4K video recording and playback options limited storage option is a big flaw.
The bottom side has the micro USB charging slot in middle, speaker grill and primary microphone grills on either side. There is no 3.5 mm audio jack and the company claims that USB is a type - C connector which has Continual Digital Lossless Audio (CDLA) technology. So we have to compare the audio differences between classic analog 3.5 mm ear jack with this new type - C connector.
The back side of the phone has the 21 mega pixel main camera with LED flash and fingerprint sensor below it. Camera has F/2.0 aperture with optical image stabilization. Other features include Full HD (4K) video recording, 6P lenses, phase detection and auto focus. The phone measures 7.9 mm thick and weighs 185 grams.
LeEco Le Max 2 runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow powered by 2.2 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor accompanied by 6 GB RAM On paper it has top notch hardware and should handle tasks flawlessly.
The battery capacity is 3100 mAh and I feel like it is little less when compared to other features. On contrast Vivo Xplay 5 Elite which has similar features has bigger battery (3700 mAh) and better pixels per inch (541).
Early Verdict:
LeEco Le Max 2 is an excellent phone with pretty decent features. But the price tag is expected to be huge when its going to hit international market. LeEco Le Max 2 is similar in most of the features to Vivo Xplay 5 Elite but the latter has better options.
